The people of the Crossroads are a very generous bunch of folks. Individuals and organizations are always looking for ways to help those less fortunate and make a difference in the lives of others. From bakes sales to marathons to barbecues and benefits, the Crossroads is there to help the needy and make a way for people to have fun at the same time.
There is no doubt about it, this is a digital world in which we live. From phones to computers to cars, you name it, almost everything we deal with has ties to technology. More and more books are being read online and when it comes to photographs, the technology makes it easy for anyone to share snapshots. Social medias allow us to share our lives with just a click of a button. Unfortunately, most of those photographs are never printed and as time goes by, few may remember who are what the photo is about.
As we have stated before, the Crossroads is loaded with talented folks Whether it be in the arts, sports or theater, the Crossroads area has been the birth place for some amazing talent.
Many communities around the state hold local pageants and the Crossroads area is no exception. From very young children and toddlers to the young adults, the pageant systems offer a way for young people to earn scholarships, gain confidence and represent their communities. Each year new royalty is crowned at these events and the participants begin their reign for their communities. For two such girls in the Victoria area, their role as royalty is just another way they are sharing their lives together.
If you happen to drive by the YMCA of the Golden Crescent or if you frequent the facility to workout, you have probably noticed the construction happening in the area. Over the past year, the YMCA has been undergoing some construction and getting a face-lift in order to provide better services for the Crossroads area.
Bringing Fresh Produce to the Crossroads
This is a fast paced world in which we live. Almost anything and everything can be purchased around the corner at the nearest store. When it comes to produce and the foods we eat, it is sad to admit that few children really know the origin of the food we eat. But there are some folks in the Crossroads that see the need to get back to the basics.
There is an old saying that states “a picture is worth a thousand words”. Even though that may be true to some extent, it is the individual behind the camera who makes the photo and one can learn a great deal about the person behind the camera when viewing the photos that they take. In this digital age, there are a lot of people taking a lot of pictures, but for one Victoria photographer, taking photos is not just a job, it is a passion.

There is a new band in the Crossroads; not a country band not a rock band. This band is on a mission; a mission to see lives changed and the love of Jesus shared in the Crossroads.
For about nine years, Clay Crockett and the Shotgun Riders played the Crossroads area as one of the most popular bands around but a couple of years ago Crockett felt that the Lord had other plans for him. He finished up the scheduled events for 2015 that were on the books. At the end of 2015 the band did an event in Inez called “Last Call” and it actually ended up being a fundraiser for the new worship band ministry and in January of 2016 Crockett left the Shotgun Riders to start a ministry using music as the tool to reach others for Jesus. The result was Nation of Believers Band.
